I’m getting used to Pownce more and more these days. It’s a really nice application like Twitter where you can post messages (status or otherwise), links, events and even files. I really like it, especially because Twitter is blocked here in UAE. It has a really nice UI as well.
The Pownce team consists of Digg’s Kevin Rose & Daniel Burka, Leah Culver and Shawn Allen. Interestingly they have developed Pownce on Django a python based framework. I haven’t seen any large applications in Django and it would be interesting to see how it scales. Twitter was developed in Ruby on Rails and it ran into some growing pains.
