Just yesterday I blogged about the state of Indian cricket and now the selectors made a couple of good moves in their selection process for the test team. They brought back Sourav Ganguly after a 10 month break from Test cricket to lend much needed experience to the Test team. I’m pretty sure he will make it into the final XI.
Virender Sehwag was dropped as vice-captain and VVS Laxman was appointed in his stead. Another good move so that Sehwag can focus on his batting, not that a vice captain’s duties should bother his batting.
Gautam Gambhir made it back into the team ahead of Akash Chopra. Although I think they should stick with Wasim Jaffer opening. They finally dropped Mohammed Kaif and Suresh Raina – a big releif. Going for experience over youth, great move.
