The Zoho Office Suite just got better. Zoho has released a plugin (FF & IE) which will allow you to open any web-based .doc, pdf, open office, excel file with a simple right-click. The formats supported are: .doc, pdf, .odt, .rtf for Zoho Writer and .xls, .csv, .sxc for Zoho Sheet.
I think this is a great feature, very useful in working with data online. Zoho’s making a good case for why we don’t need MS Office. I still haven’t installed MS Office on my laptop, just to force myself to use Zoho because I think online editors can go places. It’s very convenient to access your documents from anywhere.
One excellent addition I would like to suggest however is a Google Notebook type feature with Zoho Writer. When you right click any highlighted text you should have an option “Write to Zoho Writer” this information gets written to a document in Zoho writer. This would be very handy for Zoho users like me and Zoli :)

Thanks for writing about the Zoho QuickRead, Rushi!
About your cool suggestion, try the Zoho Writer Bookmarklet to achieve this. Click on the ‘Options’ link on the top-right & you will see the ‘Bookmarklet’ there.
Keep using Zoho :-)
I am very impressed with the fact that you are not using MSOffice or alternative desktop office apps. Shows that it is possible to live on the web for a week or more (http://blogs.zoho.com/general/living-a-week-in-a-browser/).
Awesome. If you like Zoho, check out my blog, ioannusdeverani.wordpress.com. I often write about them…
What I want to do on my blog, is every few hours take the oldest post and move it to the
front of the queue, all automatically. Anyone know if there is a plugin that can do this or
a simple way to set up another plugin to do this (use my own feed perhaps)?
Thanks.
