I am a keen follower of cricket and try to follow every country's games whenever I can. Every country goes through its lean patches. For me Sri Lankan cricket is going through one…although they do have Muttiah Muralitharan, the off-spinning wizard.
With matches like these, I wonder why do they even bother to open with a pace bowler? Just open with Chaminda Vaas and Muralitharan. Have Murali do all the wicket taking for you, why waste time on opening partnerships? Murali is a wizard, the best at what he does, bent arm or not.
When was the last time a Sri Lankan bowler apart from Muralitharan took a 5-for? It hasn't happened in the last 10-15 test matches. That is been a really long time. It's time Sri Lankan cricket woke up and looked for quality bowling. Murali and Vaas are old, Sri Lankan bowling is dieing and there if current bowling is any indication, Sri Lankan has no fast bowling depth.
